WLZ believes that education should start with the learner and adapt to suit their needs. We provide a range of educational services to children, young people, and adults, and all of our trained and DBS checked tutors share the belief that education should be enjoyable, worthwhile and accessible. We are independent and therefore able to provide flexible and bespoke learning opportunities suited to everyone.

This list is constantly being added to, so please contact us for more information. We offer: Art, Biology, Chemistry, English as a foreign language, English Language, English Literature, Entrance exam preparation, French, German, History, IT, Italian, Maths, Media studies, Mentoring, Physics, Science, Spanish, Study Skills, and Swedish.

We offer support for primary, secondary further and higher education and can prepare students for exams such as SATs, Functional Skills, GCSEs, A levels, and more. We also offer the AQA Unit Award Scheme, which offers certification in a range of subjects from bike maintenance to maths and English.

Our tuition is open to all young people aged 5 to 18, and adults. Our afterschool tuition is open to students wanting to build confidence, boost enjoyment and fulfil their potential. Some, but not all, of our evening students may have a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia or dyspraxia and our tutors can adapt sessions to suit the individual needs of these students. In addition, we offer bespoke learning packages for students who are not accessing education in a school or college. Many students come to us in the day time as part of an EOTAS (Educated other than at school or college) package, or have a personal budget (PB). We can tailor our tuition to suit students who are electively home educated. Let us know what you need, and we can build a package that provides an exciting curriculum and suits your budget.

Rather than a free lesson, we offer a free consultation. During this free half hour session, we take time to discuss the learner’s needs. We will show you around the education centre and then you can tell us all about your goals, strengths and challenges. This free session allows us to learn more about you and how you learn, so that we can tailor our tuition just for you. We feel this free session is far more valuable than a free trial lesson, as it gives us time to learn about you and your needs.

Each session lasts 55 minutes. When sessions run back to back, your child will be offered a five minute comfort break around the 55 minute mark.

You will be given your own log in to our student portal. This allows access to notes about your child’s progress, the content of their sessions, worksheets and homework and your fees record. You are welcome to return before the end of the session to have a quick chat with the tutor – please let them know you plan to do this at the beginning of the session so they can plan their lesson timings accordingly. We will always be happy to book and additional session with the tutor should you need a longer discussion. These can be booked at reception.

We accept self-funded and funded students. Sources of funding include personal budgets or EOTAS packages acquired through an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) via the local authority. We accept childcare vouchers. You may be able to claim 80% of the cost of tuition back via Universal Credit.

Yes! We are on the voluntary register for childcare and are fully compliant with Ofsted’s requirements.
